Mariners Church

Built to encourage Docks workers to attend Church the inaugural service was held on 11th February 1849. Mariners Church remains active today, with services every Sunday.

Cafes, Restaurants and Bars

Have a meal at one of out waterfront restaurants and drink in the wonderful days gone by atmosphere. Try a freshly cooked pizza, while you look out over the Main Basin and watch the Boats go past, or perhaps a Tex mex meal is more to your taste in Fosters on the Docks.

Can you resist the aroma of fresh coffee from Madisons and don’t forget to try one of the mouth-watering patisseries. Or perhaps lunch al fresco is on the menu, where The Galley will tempt you with sandwiches to ruin the most rigid of diets.

Events

From Vintage Car rallies to amazing Fireworks displays the Gloucester Docks holds events throughout the year for both young and old alike. Nearly every weekend Merchants Quay Shopping Centre has various craft demonstrations and fairs and the museums have special exhibitions throughout the year. Guided Tours

Discover how the Docks used to be, its history and traditions on one of our guided tours. These take place every Sunday throughout the summer, leaving from outside the National Waterways Museum. Guided Tours can be arranged throughout the year for groups of ten or more.

Coach Parties

Gloucester Docks has a wide range of facilities and special offers for Coach Parties, with a free coach park, Drivers Den with colour television and hot drink making facilities and seasonal offers for Drivers and their passengers. From April through to the end of October all our coaches will be greeted by one of our Visitor Hosts who will tell all Coach Visitors about all the facilities and attractions within the Docks and be on hand throughout the day to help with any problems or questions visitors may have. New for 2004 is our Passport to Gloucester Docks scheme, where groups can purchase tickets to our two award winning museums in advance for just £4.00 (a saving of £5.25). Parking

With ample Pay and Display Car Parking, offering long and short stay rates, its no wonder a day trip to the Docks is so easy and worthwhile. Disabled parking is free.
